Soldiers of Cobb County
As Cobb County was formed in 1832, most of these men were from first generation families here in the County. For those who survived the war, they returned to find their homes and businesses destroyed and for those whose wives worked in the Roswell and Manchester mills, their families scattered, many to never hear from again.
Of these units, half actually ended up fighting in their own homes and farms as Sherman invaded in 1864.
